A "magic medicine" that makes people dizzy and vomit.
In May 2022, Mr. Zhang suspected that he had bought fake drugs online and went to the Santai County Public Security Bureau in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province to report the case.
It turned out that Mr. Zhang suffered from lumbar muscle strain. In the process of searching for earthwork drugs on the Internet, he found a post introducing Chinese medicine to treat rheumatism and tonify kidney, and contacted a seller named Li Quan (a pseudonym) through the WeChat QR code on the post.
Mr. Zhang thinks that the pills are all Chinese medicine ingredients, and the side effects on the body are less, so he spent 726 yuan to buy three kinds of Chinese medicines from Li Quan: Fengshi Dieda Tongjin Pill, Texiao Fengshi Pill and Yaojia Bushen Pill. After receiving the medicine, Mr. Zhang found that conspicuous words such as "ancestral secret recipe" and "magic medicine" were printed on the outer packaging, but there was no information such as the production site of the medicine, and there was no logo of "National Medicine Zhunzhao". After eating two pills, he felt dizzy and vomited.
Coincidentally, Mr. Wu also suspected that it was a fake medicine after buying the medicine in Li Quan’s hand, and also chose to call the police.
Mianyang Food and Drug Inspection Institute of Sichuan Province inspected the drugs submitted by the informant and found that all these drugs contained western medicine ingredients. According to the provisions of China’s Drug Administration Law, if the ingredients contained in a drug do not conform to those stipulated in the national drug standards, it will be considered as counterfeit drugs.
In this regard, Mianyang City Public Security Bureau Food and Drug Environmental Investigation Detachment and Santai County Public Security Bureau Food and Drug Environmental Investigation Brigade formed a joint task force. When the task force arrested Li Quan in xuwen county, Guangdong Province, he was delivering medicine at the express delivery point. In Hechi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the police arrested the suspect Liang. Liang said that his last home was Xie in Nanning, Guangxi. Xie had given him two boxes of medicine, and his mother with rheumatoid arthritis said it was effective after eating it. When Liang saw that it was profitable, he began to advertise on WeChat to sell drugs, but he didn’t know the ingredients and specific production process of these drugs.
Following the clues provided by Liang, the police found Xie, and found more than 800,000 Chinese medicine pills in his home, as well as some western medicine tablets for treating diabetes, hypertension and arthritis. Xie gave these western medicines bought online to Liao, who was in charge of processing, and made them into powder, and then added some cheap herbs with the effects of clearing away heat and toxic materials, removing blood stasis and promoting blood circulation to make the so-called Chinese medicine pills. Xie also searched online for some ingredients, found an advertising company to make a manual, and then packaged and sold it.
In Liao’s den where drugs were processed, the police found that the basin on the ground was full of all kinds of pills, and the pharmaceutical factory was a factory to be demolished. The environment could be described as dirty, chaotic and poor.

What is shocking is that Xie and Liao, who manufacture and sell drugs in large quantities, do not have any qualification certificates related to medicine or pharmacy, nor do they have business licenses. The police found out that Xie had been engaged in this "business" with his family for six years and made illegal profits of more than 700,000 yuan. However, they never took homemade pills when they were sick, and they all went to the hospital to prescribe medicine.
During this period, a relative of Liao’s lawyer also educated them not to make counterfeit drugs, but in the face of interests, they chose to continue to commit illegal and criminal acts.
At the same time, the other two groups of investigators sent by the task force also closed the net one after another. In Liuzhou, Guangxi, the police found another family Wei, who was confessed by Liang, and arrested his family He through Wei. According to He’s account, he searched some knowledge of western medicine from the Internet, bought western medicine and mixed it with Chinese medicine powder to complete the formula of Fengshi Dieda Tongjin Pill, but he couldn’t even name the western medicine he used.
In Gongcheng Yao Autonomous County, Guangxi, the police will arrest Changmin Li who provided Yaojia Bushen Pills to Li Quan and Liang. Changmin Li confessed that in order to get high profits, he mixed western medicine sildenafil with Chinese medicine powder to make pills, and 10 or 15 pills per barrel could be sold to 100 yuan and 300 yuan.
After more than ten days of network-closing operations, Mianyang police in Sichuan arrested 13 criminal suspects for manufacturing and selling counterfeit drugs, seized more than 1 million fake Chinese medicine pills and produced 1.2 tons of raw materials for counterfeit drugs, involving a total amount of 30 million yuan. At present, the suspect in this case has been examined and prosecuted by the local procuratorate for allegedly producing and selling counterfeit drugs.
