A workshop in Xuzhou made fake deep-sea fish oil from waste oil and sold it to more than 20 cities.

This includes the case of "516" mega-manufacturing and selling fake and inferior health food in Peixian County, Xuzhou City, and the deep-sea fish oil capsules used to replenish the body were filled with the extracts of waste oil.

　　In April, 2013, Xuzhou Peixian Food and Drug Administration and Public Security Bureau received a report that there was a small workshop producing waste oil in Bianzhuang subsidence area of Yangtun Town. During the monitoring, the task force found that Jiang Shoutong, the person in charge of the workshop, rented a truck from Hebei to transport 20 barrels of fake and inferior fish oil, and the case handlers then drove to Yucheng Lvyuan Biological Co., Ltd. in Shandong Province, thus solving a case of manufacturing and selling fake and inferior health products with waste oil. Since August, 2011, Jiang Shoutong has purchased more than 1.64 million yuan worth of deep-sea fish oil scraps from Yu Wang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and produced more than 250 tons of fake and inferior fish oil. Then, he sold this large package of unmarked deep-sea fish oil capsules to more than 20 cities across the country through online sales.

　　These deep-sea fish oil capsules extracted by bleaching powder and filters can only meet the standard of a biological feed. Moreover, the fish oil produced from the leftovers has almost no fish oil content, and the effective components are only a few tenths of a percent. The national regulations stipulate that the edible fish oil should not be less than 38%. At present, ten suspects have been arrested in this case, and six enterprises illegally producing and selling fake and inferior health food in Shandong, Henan and other places have been seized, and eight production lines have been seized.
