According to reports, several protesters led by retired Lebanese military officers rushed into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the center of Beirut and declared it the "revolutionary headquarters".

Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab delivered a televised speech on Saturday (8th) local time, saying that he would propose to hold parliamentary elections in advance to break the deadlock that plunged the country into political and economic crisis.
Diab said: "If we don’t hold parliamentary elections in advance, we can’t get rid of the structural crisis in this country." He added that an early poll of the Cabinet would be proposed on Monday (10th).
