Discovery of "New" Energy in 2017: Trial Mining of "Waste Oil" with Combustible Ice and Changing it into Aviation Oil
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, December 12th Title: In 2017, "new" energy discovery, clean "power" to light up a better life.
Xinhua News Agency reporter Liu Yangyu, Anna
The first successful trial mining of combustible ice in the sea area, the change of "gutter oil" into aviation oil to help cross-ocean flight, and the debut of dry and hot rocks … … In the coming 2017, China’s energy "big family" will add new forces, and these new explorations are inseparable from the word "clean".
The country has formulated the strategy of energy production and consumption revolution by 2030, and a cleaner energy supply system will add "power" to economic development and "light up" a better life.
"New" energy exploration "multi-point flowering"
From May 10th to July 9th this year, China successfully tried to produce natural gas hydrate in Shenhu sea area of South China Sea. According to the Ministry of Land and Resources, the annual production capacity of natural gas hydrate in China will reach 1 billion cubic meters in 2030.
In addition to combustible ice, China’s energy resources field in 2017 can be described as "multi-point flowering" — —
In August, China drilled a high-temperature dry-hot rock mass at 236℃ for the first time in Gonghe Basin, Qinghai Province, achieving a major breakthrough in dry-hot rock exploration.
Since the beginning of this year, major breakthroughs have been made in shale gas exploration and development in China along the Yangtze River. China has become a major producer of shale gas alongside the United States and Canada, with an annual production capacity of more than 10 billion cubic meters and a cumulative gas production of more than 10 billion cubic meters.
In November, China’s first transoceanic flight of bio-jet fuel was successful. The bio-jet fuel used was independently developed and produced in China, and the raw material was mainly waste cooking oil.
A large number of coalbed methane resources have been found in coal mined-out areas in Shanxi Province, and the predicted resources are about 31.1 billion cubic meters. A large area of geothermal resources was discovered in Pamir Plateau of Xinjiang. A billion-ton conglomerate oilfield &hellip was discovered in Mahu area of Junggar Basin. …
Some of these new discoveries and progress are in the field of new energy, and some have made new breakthroughs in the field of traditional energy through scientific and technological innovation and exploration.
"This is the result of China’s continuous transformation of energy structure and the revolution of energy production and consumption." Han Wenke, a researcher at the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, said.
"New" energy lights up a better life
Low carbon and cleanliness are the key words for new discoveries and breakthroughs in the energy field this year. Combustible ice, shale gas, geothermal and dry-hot rocks … … These clean energy sources can not only help economic and social development, but also optimize China’s energy structure, reduce air pollution emissions and improve people’s livelihood.
As a clean resource that can be used for high-temperature power generation, dry-hot rock has the characteristics of large resources, zero pollution discharge, good safety, no seasonal restriction on thermal energy continuity, high utilization rate and low cost. According to the plan of the Ministry of Land and Resources, from 2020 to 2030, China’s dry-hot rocks are expected to realize commercial operation.
"According to the calculation of authoritative departments, if China can mine 2% of dry hot rock energy, it is equivalent to 4,000 or even more than 5,000 times of the total energy consumption in 2010." Professor Xu Tianfu of Jilin University said.
Coalbed methane, commonly known as gas, is known as the "first killer" of coal mine safety. At the same time, it is a cleaner, more efficient and safer environmental protection energy than oil and natural gas. The predicted resources of coalbed methane with a depth of 2000 meters in Shanxi Province alone are about 8.3 trillion cubic meters, accounting for nearly one third of the national total.
While reducing pollution emissions, the development of clean energy will better change people’s production and lifestyle because energy consumption such as automobiles, heating and electricity consumption is closely related to people’s lives.
For example, two geothermal resources with a total area of 15 square kilometers found in Pamir Plateau of Xinjiang will meet the local winter heating, hot spring tourism and greenhouse development.
According to the data provided by China Geological Survey, by the end of 2015, the heating and cooling area of shallow geothermal buildings in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei was 85 million square meters, accounting for about 20% of the country.
"New" energy adds new kinetic energy to the future.
The report of the 19th National Congress proposed to promote the revolution of energy production and consumption and build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system.
Huang Xiaoyong, director of the International Energy Security Research Center of China Academy of Social Sciences, said that people’s yearning for a better life will increase the demand for clean energy, and the future energy development will continue to tend to be green and low-carbon.
The China Special Report on World Energy Outlook 2017 released by the International Energy Agency on December 8 predicts that by 2040, the share of coal in China’s primary energy structure will be reduced to about 45%, the demand for natural gas in China will increase to more than 600 billion cubic meters, and the proportion of natural gas in China’s main energy structure will increase from less than 6% to 12%. The increase in natural gas production mainly comes from shale gas in unconventional natural gas.
In addition, people in the industry pointed out that the new clean energy is conducive to stimulating China’s economic growth while improving the quality of the ecological environment.
For example, Ju Jianhua, director of the Department of Mineral Resources and Reserves of the Ministry of Land and Resources, once said that the establishment of natural gas hydrate as a new mineral will drive the development of related industries, and promote the manufacturing of drilling and production equipment, pipe network construction, engineering construction, LNG carriers and unconventional natural gas exploration and development special technologies and equipment, forming a complete industrial chain of upstream exploration and development, midstream transportation reserve and downstream comprehensive utilization.
"The country has formulated a revolutionary strategy for energy production and consumption by 2030." Han Wenke said that the aim is to make China’s traditional energy on the road of clean utilization by vigorously promoting the revolution of energy production and consumption, promote the development of renewable energy in a high proportion, and make the new energy demand mainly meet by clean energy.
